A well attended and highly successful Christmas Concert took place in our church on Thurs 10th Dec. The concert was given by The Glasnevin Musical Society under the direction of David Gray and the choir of St. Mary’s Holy Faith Secondary School (under the direction of Ciaran Coll.) The programme featured a fine selection of traditional Christmas Carols together with lighter popular songs associated with Christmas. A beautiful musical arrangement was evident, particularly in one of the songs in Irish. Our thanks are due to the singers and to all associated with making the concert and raffle a success, including the provision of hospitality and the beautiful decorating of the church. Many thanks also to local shops and restaurants etc who kindly donated prizes for the raffle. (€1,500 was raised for the Fr. Peter McVerry Trust after expenses).
